Happy Birthday, Mr. Rogers by RustedRabbit Happy Birthday, Mr. Rogers by RustedRabbit
That's right, March 20th is Mr. Roger's birthday. So I wanted to draw something this year to commemorate a wonderful, genuinely caring person. Why is he a pony? Cause I didn't have enough time to design a human caricature and the more you read about this guy the more it seems like he was born in super-happy ponyland.

Plus, drawing ponies is fun :) I assume Scootaloo is telling them a super-awesome story about Rainbow Dash and how epically amazing she is, while Sweetie Belle proves once again that she can't NOT be adorable.

Anyway, here on March 20th - first day of spring (not that you can tell in Canada) and the birthday of one Fred Rogers (and many, many more people - remember this; whoever you are, someone, somewhere, likes you just the way you are. Here's a good pick me up if you're ever feeling down;

If there was any one person who would get ponyfied and not only not have a problem with that, but also encourage it to continue to spread his knowledge and love to others, I can't think of it being anyone other than Mr. Fred Rogers.  R.I.P Mr. Rogers, no matter how good or bad a day we had, you'd always be there to be our neighbor.

Happy Cry
If Fluttershy and Mr. Rogers teamed up on Discord, I think he would be 100% more reformed than he is now. (He's not nearly as bad as he used to be, though I still think he has his moments. So if Mr Rogers had gotten ahold of him too, Discord would have finished his 180, I'd say. heh.) Anyway, this is just...wonderful. I like this and shall take it to heart. I wish Mr. Rogers was still with us so that he could continue to be our are missed, sir.
Mr Rogers as a pony. All arguments are invalid.

He's probably rolling around in his grave right now after some brony horribly turning him into one of these...hideous creatures from a terrible fanbase show.

Talk about disrespect for your elders. You are a very bad neighbor

Also, March 20th is the birthday of Sesame Street's :iconbigbirdplz:.
If anyone could give the Cutie Mark Crusaders advice and encouragement on getting their cutie marks, it's Mr. Rogers. :)

*sigh* Nostalgia thy name is Rogers. I'm not saying he's been the big deciding factor in my childhood, but he certainly was a big role. And the best part? The main reason I liked him then and still like him now is because, well... There was no bullcrap with him. He was never condescending or had a character to portray for him. He was always direct and to the point and of course always with that gentle motif to him that he carries across the years. I'm not necessarily surprised he died as he was born in the early 1900s, but what no one can deny is his influence has showed a more optimistic look into the world even if it was a kids show. And while some may not want to admit that, nobody, f***ing nobody can fault him for that. I'm not gonna act like the show itself was a masterpiece but to get it out simply, there's a good reason he stayed on the air for nearly 50 years.
